Regional Park & Open Space District

Sector: Public

Services: Essential Identity Design

Deliverables: Logo system | Basic brand rollout assets (print + digital)

The Brief

The Regional Park & Open Space District (RPOSD) funds parks projects across Los Angeles County, from neighborhood recreation centers to major open-space conservation initiatives. The program needed a public-facing identity that aligned with the Department of Parks and Recreation while clearly distinguishing RPOSD as the source of funding behind many park improvements.

My Direction

While RPOSD’s work is essential, its previous branding lacked the institutional authority needed for a public agency. Working with its core team, I developed an identity centered on RPOSD’s role in supporting park projects that bring tranquility, adventure, and renewal to LA County. The result is a system that maintains high-level credibility while remaining accessible and rooted in the communities it serves.

The Result

  • Cohesive Brand Identity: A clear, adaptable, and friendly design system inspired by LA County’s unique landscapes to streamline RPOSD communications.

  • Clearer Connections: Making it easier for the public to recognize RPOSD’s role in the parks and projects they love.
